About This Place

Welcome to Taqueria La Haciendita, a hidden gem nestled at 5151 S Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL. This Mexican restaurant is famed for its vibrant flavors and authentic dishes, inviting locals and visitors alike to indulge in a culinary experience that transports you straight to Mexico. From the moment you step inside, the enticing aroma of traditional recipes fills the air, promising a feast for your senses.

One of the standout features of Taqueria La Haciendita is its extensive menu, which boasts an array of tortas, mariscos, and side dishes. Each item is thoughtfully prepared and reflects the essence of Mexican cuisine. The Torta De Lengua (tongue torta, priced at $11.99) is a must-try, celebrated for its tender texture and rich flavor. Meanwhile, the Torta De Chorizo Y Huevo (Mexican sausage and eggs, $10.75) delivers the perfect morning kick, embodying comfort food at its finest. Whether you're in the mood for crispy, flavorful camarones ala diabra at $18.50 or a simple yet satisfying Orden De Aguacate for $7.00, there’s truly something for everyone.

The reviews from satisfied customers echo the consistent quality of the food. Chito Garcia asserts that their tripe tacos are "the best of the best," while JF Sebastian enjoys the "well fried and crunchy" offerings that keep him coming back. The traditional pot-style coffee, café de olla, infused with cinnamon, has garnered its own fanfare, elevating the dining experience further.

Despite the culinary brilliance, it is important to note that Taqueria La Haciendita only accepts cash, a quirk that may pose a slight inconvenience for some diners, as highlighted by reviews. However, for many, the quality of the food far outweighs this minor setback. Patrons repeatedly emphasize their loyalty to the establishment, drawn back time and again by the flavors that tantalize the taste buds.

So, whether you’re craving a hearty gordita or a classic asada taco, or you're simply in pursuit of a cozy spot to savor a tres leches cake, Taqueria La Haciendita beckons you with open arms. With its rich flavors, welcoming atmosphere, and a menu that pays homage to traditional Mexican fare, it is a culinary destination that should not be overlooked.

Tripe Taco's.....these are the best of the best. Cash only the Sopes are amazing as well don't be afraid to try the Tripe it's cooked perfectly and not pungent like a lesser Taqueria. Enjoy.

Good food and a variety of Mexican dishes are served here beyond the well-known tacos. I recommend the well fried and crunchy tripe tacos. The coffee is a traditional pot style - café de olla- with cinnamon stick is very tasty. The server was very friendly. Something that is not right is that they don't accept any card or electronic form of payment, so you have to have cash handy or use the ATMs inside the restaurant! For me, this situation is a killer. At this point, they must have to accept cards!

If you want some tasty gorditas or tacos this is the place to go. I have been coming here for many years and the taste is always consistent. They make a really good tres leches cake. Make sure you bring cash because this is the only thing they will accept.

Food was good the rice was a little hard but nothing that I can say it was worse tbh . The asada tacos are great and the sauce is so good I highly recommend the horchata
